Yeah, so baking trays. Or baking sheets. Or oven trays – honestly whatever you call them. They can gradually become dirty and burnt from all the times you’ve done your baking activities. Sometimes you might have some batter stuck to the tray and it’s burnt, or you may have grease stuck to it, and now you’re left with a stained baking tray instead of the squeaky clean and shiny tray you used to have. However, there are solutions to fix and clean out your baking tray to make it look like new again, let’s try them out!
1. Baking Soda and Vinegar
First off, make sure to fit your baking tray in the sink or place it in a basin. Fill it up with hot water and pour ½ cup of baking soda as well as ½ vinegar into the water and tray. Let it soak for a while, like 40 minutes, once the water has turned warm, scrub the tray with a scouring pad (a non-scratch one!). Scrub as best as you can until you’re satisfied or until you’re left with the tray that you want it to look like.
2. Grease on the tray
Yeah, grease is on the tray… is not the ideal tray. So, remove the grease first by using a paper towel until there’s zero grease left on the baking tray. It’s the same as before, place the tray into hot water filled with soap and let it soak for 40 minutes. You’ll be able to scrub and have it clean after that!
3. Scrub! With a coin..
This may not be the best idea if you don’t want to leave your baking tray scratched but nonetheless, this is a tip! Just like the precious method, soak your baking tray hot water with soap, for about 30 – 40 minutes. Grab a coin. Yes, a coin and scrub away in a circular motion. Once you’ve scrubbed every part of the tray, you can have it put into the dishwasher for a final clean but if you don’t have one, that’s alright. Just rinse and dry!
Or if all things don’t satisfy your need to have a tray that looks brand new, then you may have to buy a new one, and that’s alright! If having a new baking tray makes you happy, then absolutely go for it my baking friends!
