It’s a little hard nowadays to do some cake hunting with your friends and enjoy stuffing yourself with delicious cakes that you think are too pretty to be eaten. Even celebrating your loved ones birthday can be hard now. Thinking about it is a little sad but let’s not let that ruin our day. I’m here to the rescue with these TOP 10 cakes available around KL and Selangor that you should definitely try out. Just because you can’t go out, that doesn’t mean you can’t stay inside and have it delivered to your front door!

1. Zuocake.bakery
If you’re looking to find places to make some custom cakes, then here’s the one for you! Home based bakery located in KL, the owner of zuocake.bakery makes and posts various kinds of custom cakes you can find on their Instagram feed. Here are some of my personal favorites!

Not only do they make custom cakes but they also introduced their Artisanal Bento Cakes series to their followers that currently have 5 flavors in total such as salted caramel, oreo, earl grey, coffee and durian (only for a limited period). I love all things bento and it’s perfect for me as I don’t have that big of an appetite. They also make cupcakes on the side if you’re a cupcake lover. If you’re looking forward to ordering a cake from them, they’ve prepared several flavours that you can try out such as:
- Classic vanilla
- Chocolate
- Coffee
- Salted Caramel Lotus
- Strawberry Jam
- Vanilla Oreo
- Chocolate Oreo
- Vanilla Earl Grey Tea
It’s been told that their best seller is Vanilla Oreo, so what are you waiting for? Prices range from RM69 – RM99, depending on the size of course. You can check out more information and their gorgeous cakes on their Instagram!
2. Moshicakes
Located in Damansara, this home bakery is one that I’m familiar with. Having bought birthday cakes here, I’d recommend trying out Moshicakes!

As you can see from their Instagram feed, they make cakes with plenty of designs you can try from. This shop is a little bit different as they would usually post the cakes online and the way it works i’s first come first served. So, whoever comments first gets the cake and pays for it to be delivered or picked up. Kinda reminds me of the Hunger Games hahaha. Flavours that the owner usually makes are chocolate and vanilla so you’re definitely in luck if your favorite is one or two of those flavours. I’m always in awe of their cake designs and the taste is great as well, but you just gotta be ready and camp on their account to be the first to buy the cake you desire! The cakes’ prices usually range from RM50 – RM60 so if you’re interested, do check them out on their Instagram page. Better to turn on their notifications, so you don’t miss out!
3. Cakery.bythreesisters
This small custom cake shop that’s formerly known as Sugar & Butter by 126kitche is now called Cakery.bythreesisters. As described on their bio, it’s a cafe to fulfill your dessert cravings and honestly, sounds like the perfect cafe to me!

Their little shop here offers desserts that I know it’s kinda hard to choose from because they all look so mouth-watering. So many that if I had to choose one just from looking at their feed, I would pick out the BCGT Plain Seasalt. Firstly because I really like the way it looks and second, the description sounds mind-blowing! It’s short for Belgian Chocolate Ganache Tart and it has a soft chocolate texture with a crunchy base. What’s even better is that you can choose either salted caramel or nutella to drizzle on it. It’s also known as the number 1 best seller at this lovely cafe! Other than the BCGT, they offer burnt cheesecake, cupcakes, brownies, banana cake and so much more. Check out their Instagram page to find more desserts that you desire, you’re not gonna regret it!

Their top-notch French desserts seem like the desserts to die for with their Classic Tiramisu, Strawberry Shortcake, Matcha Flan and more. These desserts are ideal for birthdays and events or even just for yourself because why not? All of them are made fresh and I definitely trust them on the hands of a Champion of Asian Pastry Cup 2016.
