The Tasik Melati Recreational Park is a natural wetland created within the development area in Kangar, Perlis. It got its name from the fragrant Jasmine flower and originally was a wetland with wild plants locally known as “kercit” but then the water dried up as it was used by local farmers for irrigation. 6. Kota Kayang Museum
The Kota Kayang Museum is a local museum located in Kuala Perlis that sits on a 2-hectare of land. The land was a gift from King Syed Alwi to his younger brother Syed Salim bin Syed Muhammad Al-Jafri. After going through many changes, it was officially the residence of the Perlis Chief Minister after the independence of Malaya in 1957. The building was then demolished to build the Kota Kayang Museum with a similar design to the former building.
