Concubine Lane is a hit attraction for these few years. The historical buildings located in the lane are renovated and transformed into cafes, souvenir shops and restaurants. The BookXcess outlet in Ipoh is probably the most unique outlet as the building was a bank. They are trying to maintain the original architecture as much as they can, hence the safe deposit boxes have been transformed into bookshelves. Birch Memorial Clock Tower was built as a memorial for J.W.W. Birch, the first British resident of Ipoh. There is one figure each at the four corners of the clock tower, representing the four virtues of British administration.
