How to maintain your sponge at its best:

  • Wring the sponge dry after every use
  • Use a hanging sponge holder to let it dry rather than letting it sit with another surface because it will absorb the moisture and germs that it sticks to.
  • Few drops of a citrusy essential oil like lime and orange can make your sponge smell good and lessen germs

All sponges work fantastically at removing stubborn dirt but you have to survey for the ones following the material that you will be using. For example, you can use sponges to clean the interior of a frying pan but you shouldn’t use a rough type that could scratch or damage the coating of any non-stick pan. There’s no harm in having a few sponges laying around so you don’t have to keep going out for more.
