The Beef noodle dish is a combination of noodles paired with tender and juicy beef cuts either stewed or braised, together with vegetables and noodles. There are many versions of this dish, one of the oldest versions originating from China during the Tang Dynasty is called the Lanzhou Lamian.

The Malaysian version of Beef Noodles can be enjoyed dry or with a soup base. This dish is enjoyed by a large number of Malaysians and many shops within Klang Valley serve mouthwatering Beef Noodles.

What other countries have beef noodle dishes?

The Beef Noodle dish is extremely popular in Taiwan. The Taiwanese version is spicier than the Malaysian version. The Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup is enjoyed with fresh greens, chopped cilantro, pickled mustard greens, and chilli oil. This dish incorporates ingredients such as Sichuan peppercorns and Spicy Bean paste, or Doubanjiang to create the spiciness of the broth.

Vietnam also has its take on the Beef Noodle dish. This dish in Vietnam is known as Pho. Usually, Pho is made with rice noodles bathed in beef or chicken broth, along with onions, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander seed, fennel seed, and clove. The broth in Pho is light and fresh and its taste is less overwhelming compared to the Malaysian version.
